Message I've always kinda wondered this.
Sure it's great that our cars (well, YOUR TT's) are highway monsters since they're geared for the top end. But for that top end, we lose the advantage low end right? Now my question is, why would Nissan gear the Z that way? Becuase the Z is meant to be a touring car on the highway? Is the higher end gearing more beneficial for other purposes like ease of driving or gas mileage or something? Just curious, because for a sports car, especially an evolution (at the time of it's arrival) like the Z I would think they would want to show off some impressive numbers, and I think with the car geared for low end they could have had some even better 0-60 / 1/4 mile times, right? And maybe this would put an end to all the bitching about how our cars aren't geared for 1/4 mile times.
Just curious.
Thanks!
